We’ve been beta testing liveaps.com’s drag’n'drop software (which is free by the way including hosting), and we’ve just upgraded the gallery with their version 2.0 which even has it’s own new product name:

Batik on silk is an extremely time consuming process as the artist can only work on around a square inch at a time, and then has to wait for the material to settle to avoid damaging the silk. For instance the piece below (125cm x 225cm) took the artist Aprat Koeswadji around a year to produce. These batiks have never been shown before and are a must-see for Collectors. Hi there, and we hope you enjoy our new format website.
We’ve tried to make it as interactive as we can, so we can have a conversation with you just as we did when we had our gallery in Camden.
The key functional changes are:
- The site is now blog-style which lets you leave comments which we will respond to.
- Email or RSS updates: instead of sending monthly newsletters we thought it better all round if you simply opt-in to receive updates when we write new posts, so if you’d like this to happen please click the link at the top right of this page.
- A ShareThis button: If you’d like to tell your friends about us, you can do this by email (or you can tell all your social network friends easily) by using the ShareThis link at the top of the page.
- A Twitter feed: We’ll send quick tweets when we publish new posts. Click on the link above if you want to follow us that way.
- We’ve formed a Facebook group so if you like you can meet other Lock One friends.
- The site is now in three main parts: 1. The Blog posts that will continue to appear here, 2. The Resources links at the bottom right of the page where you can learn more about batik and, 3. The Gallery links going through to our various sections.
We’ve built the Gallery pages using a new drag’n'drop web page builder from LiveAps. This makes it so easy for us to add new products, and as the items we have on the site now are only a small part of our actual stock, we’ll be adding new pieces on a regular basis.
Anyway, we hope you like our new format and please feel free to leave a comment and let us know what you think.
